Logo
design
Brief:
Create a new logo for macsales.com that includes, in full, "macsales.com" to avoid any copyright infringement with Apple, as well as, "An Other World Computing company". Can also include an icon, new colors, and new fonts.
Intent:
To establish a new identity for macsales.com that distinguishes it from Other World Computing.
We met several times to discuss our progress and get feed back from our boss and the Chief Digital Revenue Officer. Each design above was created after receiving feedback.
After doing some research on other companies and generic “tech” logos, I decided to go with an MS icon as the main logo. After each round I made changes based off of my team discussions. The final concept went for review along with 2 other logos.
Feedback
Not looking for abstract. Like the idea of a laptop or laptop related.
I struggled with the concept. After round one I took photos of my laptop in different angles but I found that looked odd when vectorizing it. In round 3, I did more work with just the word mark and went with a simpler, more subtle laptop.
One of my teammates used a computer mouse in one of her mocks so I adapted that idea into my concepts. Then jumping adjacently to a cursor instead. With the intention of expressing the action of clicking on macsales.com. We were also encouraged to work on different color mock ups this round.
Feedback
The Chief advisor, definitively wants a laptop icon with a swoosh representative of the OWC logo planetary swoosh. Possibly with an arrow to emphasize upgrades.

This project lasted a few months, with us meeting about once a week. It was my last project with OWC and unfortunately I didn’t have a part in the final but it is on the macsales.com website today.
